National Diversity Awards appoints Ash Palmisciano as their newest judge.

The National Diversity Awards was born in 2012 with the aim of creating and celebrating a new diverse generation of role models to reflect the inspiring people in modern-day diverse Britain.

“Ash Palmisciano is best known for playing Matty Barton in Emmerdale. He is the first transgender actor to play a transgender character in Emmerdale. Ash has also worked for the RSC and was the first transgender actor to appear on the RSC stage. We’re thrilled to gain Ash’s support and welcome him onto this year’s judging panel.”

Following the announcement, Ash said; “There are so many inspiring people working hard and doing extraordinary things to make positive changes in our world and they really deserve to be recognised. I’m looking forward to hearing about all the fantastic and much-needed work happening across our county, I’m extremely proud to be a part of such an inspirational night.”
